Young Mermaids is based right in the heart of historic Kennett Square, and we specialize in custom bridal looks, redesigns, and reconstructions of vintage gowns.

If you’re ready to get on the books for alterations or a reconstruction, please schedule a First Fitting.  If you’re interested in creating something completely custom for your wedding day (or another event around it), choose a Custom Consultation.

First Fitting

At this appointment, we'll go over your gown from top to bottom and see what adjustments are needed to make it fit you beautifully. We’ll look at the bodice, hemline, bustle options and overall shape, and we’ll talk through the best options for alterations. 

Please remember to bring your shoes to this fitting so we can get the length just right. If you have any questions or special requests, add them in the “alteration notes” section when booking — We’ll review those before confirming your appointment so we’re ready to dive in!

Custom Consultation

This appointment is for brides dreaming of a custom look for their big day or a unique piece made just for them. During your consultation, we’ll sit down and talk through your vision, take your measurements, and walk you through the custom design process step by step. From inspiration to sketches to fabric ideas, this is where your one-of-a-kind look begins to take shape, completely tailored to you!

Appointment Fees

Communication is key! I completely understand that life happens and sometimes things come up.   All I ask is that you give us a quick call if you’re unable to make your appointment so we can find another time that works for you.

All bookings require a card on file, but your card will only be charged if there is a no-call, no-show (a $50 fee applies).  For alterations, a deposit will be taken at your first fitting.  Custom consultations are $50, and this fee will be applied toward your custom design if you decide to move forward. We will not charge you until the end of your consultation.
